Intense week of international contacts for MetaIndustry4

The Advanced Manufacturing Cluster of the Metal Industry of Asturias, METAINDUSTRY4, raises interest to different international organizations from South Africa and Colombia.

On October 27 and November 2, MetaIndustry4 received the respective visits from the Regional Director of Industrial Clusters of South Africa and responsible for the Colombian Delegation of the Metalworking Cluster of the Department of Atlántico, coinciding both in the interest of knowing the actions of the Cluster, the focus of our projects and the possible collaborative opportunities between clusters.

 

 

The meetings focused on the presentation of MetaIndustry4 and its members, and the actions that have been carried out in this short journey, mentioning the most relevant milestones so far, such as the proposal to develop a specialized load projects terminal in the Port of El Musel de Gijón, the analysis of the positioning of the Asturian metal industry in the Global Value Chains, the diagnosis of implementation of Industry 4.0 in the Asturian companies and the implementation of the first University Master’s Degree of Industry 4.0 in Spain. In addition to the projections of future work that concatenate the mentioned projects.

The feedback received was directed to issues such as organization and functioning, the possibility of transferring knowledge related to the methods of analysis used in the projects, the interest in the educational program of the Master of Industry 4.0 and the search for collaborative opportunities in the different Global Value Chains.

In the coming days, the Cluster will participate in the international event GROW Your Region Smart Networking Opportunities, organized by the European Commission and aimed at intensifying industrial cooperation and strategic connections between regional and local eco-systems

For Metaindustry4, participation in international events and contact with other organizations is in its strategy as a basis for the creation of networks and the generation of cooperation and business opportunities for our partners.
